What is the |

"Addict in the Family" |

support group? |
| The support group seeks to help the families and friends of alcoholics and addicts to begin their own recovery processes. | ||
| We believe that family members who choose to break the unhealthy cycle can have a positive influence on their addicted loved ones and can learn to reaffirm the value of their own lives. | ||
| The journey to this recovery includes education about alcoholism and addiction and learning healthier ways of interacting with our alcoholic and addicted loved ones. | ||
| Anonymity is essential to this group--what is said in this room stays in this room. | ||
| We use the 12 Steps, the Al-Anon books, and the book Addict in the Family. We may also use other books and literature. From time to time we have guest speakers. This is not an Al-Anon group, but we utilize the principles of Al-Anon and the 12 Steps. |
